Being on the road can be draining and stressful for us all, especially for truck drivers who spend nearly 11 hours on the road daily. It’s important in today’s age to utilize technology in as many ways as possible to make life easier where you can.

ATBS recently published an article highlights 12 of the most helpful apps for truckers and they shared some useful insights on apps that truckers should use. Here are some apps worth noting that are useful for drivers, truck drivers, and anyone else who spends time on the road– all are available on the App Store or Google Play store.

GasBuddy is one of the most popular apps out there to make your driving experience, and specifically your fueling experience, less expensive and more convenient. GasBuddy allows drivers to update gas prices along their route, keeping everyone informed about who has the best prices in town. You can even pay with GasBuddy’s app now. iExit Interstate Exit Guide

Ever wanted to stop for a quick bite to eat along your route but don’t know how far until the next exit? iExit Interstate Exit Guide app gives you the exact exits along your interstate route to find gas, lodging, and food.

Mudflap

Mudflap is a digital fuel card app that makes buying fuel cheaper and easier for fleets. You can view a map of your route and choose where you want to fill up your tank with visual price comparisons. Once you choose your fueling location, pre-buy your fuel by noting how many gallons you will need. This locks in your price at the pump. Head to the station, stop inside at the fuel desk and show the cashier your QR code on your smartphone. Fueling can now begin.

TruckerPath is one of the most popular apps among truck drivers. Find truck stops, available parking, fuel prices or weigh station status in the convenience of one app. There is even navigation maps available within the app to make your driving experience more streamlined.

Waze

Waze is a navigation app that has increased in popularity in the past few years. Not only will it get you from one place to another using the fastest route, it will also update with road hazards, police, and traffic to make sure you can get where you’re going safely.

Sunoco

The Sunoco App allows you to find nearby gas stations with ease, pay the pump with your phone, & get in-store exclusive offers right inside the app! This is a great app option especially during the pandemic because it allows you to enjoy contactless payment at Sunoco pumps by using your smartphone. It’s also a great way to discover what specials and deals are happening inside stations, like MacFood Mart within the app.

KeepTruckin Driver – ELD

KeepTruckin Driver is an app made for drivers who need to track their mileage on the job. It’s a digitized logbook app that is fully compliant with FMCSA and DOT regulations. It even sends you alerts when you’re approaching you are running out of driving time to help you avoid Hours of Service violations.
