Reflecting on 2018

As 2018 draws to a close, most people are taking some time to reflect on the year and the good and bad that happened in the past 365 days. No matter what side of the political debate you’re on, we can all agree that 2018 was an interesting year in politics and world news.

There was also a lot of local news happening this year. Fort Wayne was named the best place to live in Indiana in 2018. April Tinsley’s killer was found and brought to justice after 30 years. The Pufferbelly Trail opened and expanded Fort Wayne’s already-extensive trail network.

So, in the spirit of looking back at the year, here are a couple of notable things that happened with McIntosh Energy in 2018.

Russell McIntosh, founder and CEO of McIntosh Energy, passed away on November 2, 2018 at the age of 89. Russell founded McIntosh Energy in 1953 after serving in the Korean War and grew the company from a simple home heating fuel delivery service to what it is today.

McIntosh Energy also owns the MacFood Mart brand of convenience stores/gas stations, which also did very well this year. Two of the stores received new ovens and food preparation equipment for breakfast sandwiches and pizza, expanding their options for prepared food.

McIntosh Energy had a really good 2018, and we hope you did, too. We wish you a 2019 full of joy and blessings!
